Downwind Again

The dog came to Mars for quiet rocks and predictable sunsets. Instead, every evening brings the same warm front from the ridge. He lowers his head, seals his nose with one paw, and waits for the green cloud to clear. Elon looks over his shoulder like the atmosphere has raised an interesting engineering question. The dog has already answered it by refusing to inhale.

Dear Elon

Please rotate ninety degrees before testing the next atmospheric release. The western crater has already been evacuated, the rover refuses to leave its charger, and my left eyebrow still smells like burnt cabbage. I am not questioning the mission. I am requesting a basic wind check, one sealed suit, and the dignity of finishing a sunset without using my own paw as emergency breathing equipment. Respectfully, the dog downwind.

Still holding its breath.
